Spiritual Life Director

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

Mr. Quintin Ayers

Wesleyan Christian Academy’s Spiritual Life Director, Mr. Quintin Ayers, is an active member of Mercy Hill Church of the Triad. Quintin grew up in southwest Virginia and has lived in the Triad for almost 10 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Masters of Divinity from Piedmont International University (now Carolina University/Piedmont Divinity School) in Winston-Salem.

Quintin is certified by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and previously taught high school Bible and World History at Salem Baptist Christian School. Outside of school, Quintin serves as part of Mercy Hill’s Student Ministry Team and annually travels on international mission trips for his church and Wesleyan Christian Academy. You can find Quintin in his second-floor office occasionally, but most of the time, he’s out and about, interacting with our students… in the hallways and classrooms, on the basketball court, in the cafeteria, or leading our weekly chapels. Above all things, Quintin is committed to being available to Wesleyan students.

Pastor Chris Walker, Youth Pastor at Goodview Baptist Church, has a unique perspective on Quintin as he’s watched him grow up and become the man of God that he is today. “Quintin is a highly respected individual in our community and our church. He has a passion for God and the Gospel and is mature and wise beyond his years.” Walker continued, “Quintin is also a talented communicator and can connect with people of all ages, but especially teens. We have grown to love and treasure Quintin tremendously, and I’m sure your families will also.”

In every chapel, Quintin takes biblical concepts and breaks them down into language our students can understand and implement in their daily lives. His use of humor, his down-to-earth nature, and reverence for God’s word blend effortlessly, clearly resonating with students. This relatability is not by chance. According to Quintin, “I grew up in a poor, unbelieving, single-family home in Goodview, Va. I should have never encountered Christ in my life. However, a local youth pastor in the area decided to pick up trailer park kids and show them Christ. He paid for me to attend Merriwood Christian Camp as a rising 6th grader. Merriwood is where I received Christ … sitting on my bunk reading Romans 6:23Now I want to be for students what that youth pastor was for me.”  Not surprisingly, Quintin’s life mission is to give God glory by presenting the love and truth of Jesus to students…”
