ALUMNI SPOTLIGHTS

Tell us about your family.

My twin sister, Taylor, also graduated from WCA in 2011. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a degree in Arts Management, Taylor lives in Naples, FL and works as the Annual Fund Manager for Artis-Naples, a multi-disciplinary arts organization that houses the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and Baker Art Museum. Taylor is passionate about fundraising and arts education.

What is your current job?

I am currently working as an Assistant Director of Admission at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. After my own incredible college experience at Lenoir-Rhyne University, I couldn’t wait to help other high school graduates achieve their dreams of higher education.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy singing in the chancel choir and volunteering with the high school youth group at my church, West Market Street United Methodist in downtown Greensboro. I also coach softball through the Oak Ridge Youth Association. This past season I had the pleasure of coaching WCA student, Anna Gray Albert. I also travel to Florida every chance I get to visit Taylor and she and I plan our annual “twin trips.” This summer, we’re headed to Paris, France!

What is your favorite Wesleyan memory?

How can I possibly choose? I absolutely loved every minute of my time at Wesleyan. WCA made a profound impact on the woman I am today, largely thanks to the care and support of numerous teachers and staff members. A few of my favorite memories include:

1. I met my best friend, Alexis Caudle ’13, during middle school softball tryouts in 8th-grade. We’ve been best friends ever since!!

2. Taylor and I had the opportunity to sing in the first high school women’s ensemble called Faith. The group began with only five women, but now it’s grown into a huge, audition-based choral group that performs all over North Carolina. Taylor and I also had a blast performing in WCA’s first four high school musicals including High School Musical, The Music Man Jr., Beauty and the Beast, and The Sound of Music.

3. Spirit Week and Homecoming are always two of my favorite memories. During my senior year, I remember how our entire class worked until after midnight decorating our hallway in a Disney theme. During the Homecoming Pep Rally, we also performed a dance as 88 different Disney characters. Shout out to the Class of 2011!!!
