Come and hear about North Carolina’s recently expanded K-12 Opportunity Scholarship Program!

The Opportunity Scholarship is now open to ALL families in North Carolina.
This Scholarship provides private school tuition assistance for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade. Applications open on February 1st, 2024,
for the 2024-2025 school year.

Parents for Educational Freedom in NC (PEFNC) will be at our
Parent Information Session to talk about this program and
answer any questions you may have.

Why Is NCOS Important to Wesleyan Families?

What is the NC Opportunity Scholarship?

NCSEAA is the organization responsible for implementing the NCOS program.

Letter from Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina (PEFNC)

The Opportunity Scholarship Program is a private school scholarship funded by the State of North Carolina. Watch a video about the program on the School Choice North Carolina website. Scholarships range from approximately $3,000 – $7,000 and cover tuition and fees. 

Eligibility is now open to ALL NC K12 students regardless of income or prior public school enrollment. 

Applications open on February 1, 2024 but the time to get ready is NOW! Here is how you can prepare:

  1. Check Your Estimated Scholarship Amount: Learn more about the Opportunity Scholarship and calculate your estimated scholarship amount.
  2. Set Up a MyPortal Account: Applications must be submitted through your MyPortal Account, so go ahead and set it up so that you’re ready to go when applications open.

  3. Explore the Schools in Your Area: Learn more about the schools in your area, including those that are direct payment schools and accept scholarship funding.
