Nine Student Athletes Commit This Fall!
Each year, a number of Wesleyan seniors pursue various opportunities to play collegiate sports. Over the years, we’ve been blessed to see our students go on to play college sports throughout the country. Consequently, select Wesleyan alumni have progressed past college sports to professional sports, such as Brandt Bronico who plays with Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire, Wil Myers who plays for Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres, and Theo Pinson, who now plays with the National Basketball Association’s Brooklyn Nets.
While each of their journeys is unique, they all have one thing in common: “Signing Day” at Wesleyan. In conjunction with National Signing Day, each fall and spring Wesleyan hosts an event to recognize student-athletes who have been recruited by colleges to provide them an opportunity to celebrate these hard-earned athletic scholarships. “It is a joy to see these young men and women, who have dedicated themselves to excellence in their academics and sports for so many years, have the satisfaction of experiencing all the hard work come to fruition and enjoy the reward of a college athletic scholarship,” said WCA Athletic Director Glen Foster.
Today, Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 8 a.m., nine Wesleyan Christian Academy seniors, along with their families and teammates, gathered in the Farlow Fine Arts Auditorium to celebrate these young men and women and their outstanding accomplishments. WCA’s Athletics Department is honored to share that five baseball players, two soccer players, one volleyball, and one gymnast will compete in their respective sports during their collegiate careers. Below are the WCA student-athletes who signed with a college or university this morning (left to right):

“This is always an exciting day for Wesleyan,” said High School Principal Tim Rickman, “We’ve watched these young men and women grow up in front of our eyes. They’ve grown in their faith, in their knowledge, and in their sport. Today, we prepare to launch them toward their future with God by their side. We praise God for these tremendous blessings and look forward to watching their journeys in the years ahead.”
Congratulations to these young men and women and to their families! Well done!
