Baptism in the WCA Pool?!

Yes! Right here in our own WCA pool, one of our HS students desired to follow the Lord’s leading and asked to be baptized in full view and support of his friends and family.

Faculty member Jon Pavlack has spiritually mentored many, many students since joining Wesleyan back in 2009.   One of these relationships has been developed with Drew Greene (10th grade).

We all recognize that kids watch and critique every moment of our lives.  They of course have a key sense of awareness and insight with the authenticity of a person’s character and beliefs system.  As the Lord has drawn Drew to coach Pavlack, and many other Christian adults in his life, their spiritual investment has had such an effect on Drew that he asked Mr. Pavlack to baptize him in Wesleyan’s swimming pool last week.  As a crowd of students and faculty gathered around Friday afternoon after school, Drew testified that because of what he had seen in these godly examples, he knew he wanted to follow the Lord’s calling and publically acknowledge his new faith in Jesus Christ.

What an astonishing blessing every year to watch the Lord transform the hearts of so many students and families at Wesleyan.  It is with this in mind that we recognize the blessings in our own lives. With each passing year, God’s faithfulness is evident.  What a privilege to partner together with such wonderful parents as we seek to provide your children with a life changing environment designed to provide purpose, clarity and direction in a child’s life.

On behalf of your Wesleyan family, we pray that you and your family will “enter His presence with thanksgiving” and reflect on all the wonderful blessings the Lord has set before you.  May our gracious Lord continue to bless, guide and lead each of our families and staff this Thanksgiving week.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17)
