Elementary Guidance Counselor
The elementary years are a time when your child begins to develop his or her academic self-concept and his or her feelings of competence and confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making, communication and life skills, as well as character values. It is also a time when your child develops and acquires attitudes toward school, self, peers, social groups, and family. They are in the process of becoming the person who God has intended and created them to become. As the elementary school counselor, my goal is to be available to you and your child and to provide services and resources that will help and encourage you and your child. I am here to partner with the families of Wesleyan Christian Academy to help our elementary students develop into wonderful Godly young people. Early identification and intervention of children’s academic and personal/social needs is essential in removing barriers to learning and in promoting academic achievement. The knowledge, attitudes and skills that students acquire in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development during these elementary years serve as the foundation for future success.
As your child’s elementary school counselor, I am here to help in any way possible. I look forward every year to sharing information that will help you and your child during these formative years. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns you may have. My office is always open to you and to your student.
