Parent Volunteer Association

Purpose

The Parent Volunteer Association exists to joyfully serve, faithfully support, and prayerfully champion the mission of Wesleyan Christian Academy. We are a vibrant community of parents committed to strengthening the bonds of fellowship among families, enriching student life through purposeful involvement, and honoring Christ by enhancing every aspect of the Wesleyan experience through service, encouragement, and love.

PVA Sponsored Events

The PVA-sponsored Faculty and Staff Breakfast is a heartfelt event where Wesleyan parents come together to bless our dedicated school team with a delicious, thoughtfully prepared morning meal, express gratitude, build community, and encourage those who pour into the lives of our students every day.

Our PVA Open Houses are held every year before the first day of school. They are specifically for WCA students and their parents (including returning and new families). This is a great time to meet your teachers, find your desk or locker, drop off school supplies, and walk an abbreviated schedule.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week is a joyful celebration where parents and students honor Wesleyan’s incredible team with special treats, notes, meals, and surprises to express our heartfelt gratitude for their dedication, excellence, and Christ-centered service in shaping the hearts and minds of our students every day.

Each month, our Wesleyan PVA blesses our students and families with fun and engaging events that build community and remind us how lucky we are to be part of an intentionally Christian school. Events can include, but are not limited to:
– Movie Night @ High Point Rockers Stadium
– Kona Ice Truck on campus to celebrate the academic quarters
– Valentine Cookie Grams
– PVA Fun Festival

The PVA supports the Early Education program by helping fund essential items such as classroom furniture, toys, books, and playground equipment. This support is made possible through the involvement of childcare staff and parents in the annual Fun Festival, which shares a portion of its proceeds with the program.

Each spring, the PVA awards a college scholarship to a WCA senior who has demonstrated exceptional community service, completing a minimum of 100 service hours within a 12-month period. This scholarship honors students who lead through service and reflect Wesleyan’s commitment to impact beyond the classroom.

Academic Awards Assemblies are conducted each spring in the elementary, middle, and high school divisions.  During the assemblies, a variety of awards are presented.  The PVA provides funds for trophies, plaques, and certificates.

The PVA has supported various programs and projects sponsored within the academy, such as Arts Impact Day, Mission Fair, Wellness Committee Fairs, and Spiritual Emphasis Week. In addition, the PVA has contributed to purchasing special equipment, such as sound equipment for the dining hall and middle school gym, as well as security cameras.

Fundraisers

Harris Teeter (WCA Code 2098)

Give the cashier WCA Code 2098 and your VIC card when you check out, and your card will be linked for the entire school year.  Once your card is linked, Harris Teeter will donate a percentage of your Harris Teeter brand (Harris Teeter, Premier Selection, H.T. Traders, Harris Teeter Naturals, Your Pet, Hunter Farms, Highland Crest, and More Value) purchases to WCA.  In addition to HT brand items, a percentage of each prescription filled in the Harris  Teeter pharmacy will be donated to the school. Follow the directions here to link your VIC card to the school number.

GRANDPARENTS, ALUMNI, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS ARE ALL WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HARRIS TEETER “TOGETHER IN EDUCATION” PROGRAM.

PVA Fun Festival

The Fun Festival has been a tradition at WCA for over 35 years and is the largest PVA fundraiser. The activities are primarily designed for preschool and elementary children. Service opportunities are available for middle and high school students as helpers in classroom activities. Volunteers are needed to assist with ticket sales at entrances, gym and outdoor activities, hot dogs and pizza service, and dining hall cleanup following the event.

PVA Bake Sale

The PVA Bake Sale takes place in conjunction with the Fun Festival. Parents and students donate baked goods, which are sold throughout the school day. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, sales, and cleanup.

A straightforward way to help support the WCA PVA is to link your grocery store rewards.

PVA Prayer

Father, we ask for a powerful and profound work of the Holy Spirit among the administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents of Wesleyan Christian Academy.  We plead that the Holy Spirit will do a powerful and gracious work in our hearts. Holy Spirit, release Your power in this school and meet the particular spiritual needs of the administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents of Wesleyan Christian Academy. May you be glorified!  Amen!
